The Farm

Located on the Marlborough Downs in Wiltshire, Home Farm Minal is principally a 640 acre arable farm, growing a rotation of cereals, oil seed rape, and maize.

Since 1950 it has been a mixed arable and dairy farm, originally farmed by Jack Bernard Ainslie (1921 – 2007). In 1994 his son, Andrew Ainslie took on the custodianship of the farm estate. In 2016 the dairy was sold and the barns and buildings converted into the commercial light industrial units that form a core part of the farming business today. The Estate includes three solar arrays capable of generating more than 70kw of renewable energy.

An eco-farmhouse for the 21st century

Environment

Home Farm Minal has a keen eye on the importance of food production, farm diversification, its community and the environment.

The Ainslie’s have built an eco-farmhouse for the 21st century. This is at the heart of the farm’s philosophy, surrounded by wildflower meadows, with extensive areas dedicated to national conservation schemes throughout the estate.
